The Planetarium is a multifaceted organization dedicated to astronomy education for all levels, from nursery through to retirement age. It is the Planetarium’s unique ability to adapt to changing audience needs that have enabled it to stay at the forefront of science education since its formation.

Blackrock Castle Observatory is a 16th century Castle located 4km from the heart of Cork city on the banks of the river Lee.At the Castle you will find Cosmos at the Castle, Ireland’s first interactive science exhibit, BCO Labs with researchers from the Cork Institute of Technology, Monthly astronomy Open Nights, Hands-on workshops exploring different themes in science and engineering and Discover Primary Science program.

Dunsink Observatory is the oldest scientific institution in Ireland. Built in 1783-1785 for the first Andrews’ Professor of Astronomy in Trinity College Dublin, the observatory is situated on a hill 8km northwest of Dublin’s city centre, where it first housed the Astronomy section of the School of Cosmic Physics in the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.

Inishowen Maritime Museum has a state-of-the-art Planetarium. This incredible device and dome give us the ability to see how mariners used to navigate with the stars, and also provide dazzling astronomy and light shows. With education and entertainment in mind, the Planetarium (one of only three in Ireland), is available to school groups for educational shows tailored to their specific curriculum, as well as the general public.

Birr Castle offers something for everyone to enjoy and is especially interesting and educational for families. Starting with Ireland’s Historic Science Center in the old stable block, with its café and shop you can then explore 50 hectares of park land, visit the magnificent Formal Gardens and terraces and discover Birr’s world famous engineering and astronomical wonder – the Great Telescope.

IFAS is an umbrella group of Astronomical Clubs & Societies throughout Ireland represented here. Through this portal, you can meter and greet over 1,400 fellow Amateur Astronomers from around Ireland an all over the globe.
