Hosted by the team behind the award-winning 5*S (Space, Surveyors, Students, STEM and the SDGs) programme at Maynooth University, this full-day event brings together educators, researchers, innovators, and second level students to explore what meaningful climate education looks like in practice and will feature inputs from leading international voices in climate and sustainability education.

Whether you’re just beginning to engage with CASD or looking to deepen your practice, this conference offers practical tools, fresh thinking, and a community of educators who share your commitment to a more just and sustainable world.

A range of hands-on workshops will be offered including an introduction to the free ArcGIS platform that supports data-rich teaching across the curriculum (Geography, Science, Politics and Society, and more), and you will have the chance to explore the European Space Agency’s Climate Detectives programme among other exciting initiatives concerned with key themes in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

The conference will consider the many aspects (including the practical and the digital as well as the political and the emotional) of teaching about climate change and climate justice. You will be able to connect with colleagues from second-level, further and higher education, and NGO settings and delve into these themes in depth.
