Dream Space LIVE: World Space Week with ESERO @ online nationwide
What would we need to live in space?
Join the Dream Space team for a free live virtual event celebrating World Space Week with ESERO Ireland as we explore this year’s theme, Living in Space. Students will discover what makes Earth ideal for life, compare it with the extreme environments of other worlds and imagine the adaptations needed to survive beyond our planet. They will then use MakeCode Arcade to build a simple retro style game that brings their space living ideas to life.
Online session takes place on Tuesday 7th October, 10:30 – 12:00
Perfect for upper primary and lower secondary students.
Free for school groups, with registration required.
Cosmic Creatures @ The National Reptile Zoo, Kilkenny City
Space is a harsh environment for humans and requires a range of life support systems to enable us to survive there. Similarly, we will explain to visitors how our animals are adapted to specific environments and what technology and systems we must put in place to allow them to thrive here at The National Reptile Zoo in Kilkenny.
Taking place October 4th – 10th between 10am – 6pm.
Suitable for general public.
ESERO Space Goes to School @ online nationwide
ESERO Space Goes To School is a program that brings real Space Industry professionals to your classroom via videoconference, for FREE! Your students will have a chance to learn from these experts and to engage with them. We’ve had amazing speakers over the years, including former NASA Astronaut Dan Tani.
The programme is designed to stimulate an interest in Space, and science more generally, while seeking to dispel any bias the students may feel about who can or cannot be a scientist. We want all students to feel that they can be scientists if they want to.
These sessions take place throughout Space Week, 4th – 10th October.
Suitable for primary and secondary school groups.
Free, but booking is required.
